Audio Ambrosia: Foreign Exchange - Leave It All Behind (2008)

The Pad has been long overdue for
a new piece of Ambrosia. The latest section comes from The Foreign Exchange with their sophomore album "Leave It All Behind". This emcee/producer duo is Phonte and Nicolay who originally hail from North Carolina and The Netherlands respectively. I would describe this album as an "instant classic". Phonte fully debuts his singing skills over Nicolay's mellow electro-soul rhythms while still showcasing roots as a rapper. The Foreign Exchange branched out on this album beyond the hip-hop heavy debut "Connected" to re-invent their selves as a group. Featuring collaborations with Muhsinah, Yazarah and Darien Brockington, this work truly achieved perfection status. Although every track is Amborsia, my personal favorites are Daykeeper ft. Muhsinah, Take Off The Blues ft. Darien Brockington and If This Is Love Ft. Yazarah.
